Training at Bandrum

Training is integral to Bandrum’s ethos and underpins the high standards of care we deliver every day. We are committed to developing a skilled, confident and compassionate workforce, ensuring staff have the knowledge, competence and support needed to meet the diverse and complex needs of the people who live with us.

Our staff benefit from a wide range of specialist training, ongoing upskilling and clinical competency programmes. Training is delivered through a mix of face-to-face learning, online modules, coaching and vocational qualifications, allowing flexibility while maintaining high standards and consistency across the team.

Core Training Areas Include:

  • Basic Life Support – Ensuring staff are confident to respond in emergency situations.
  • Dysphagia (Swallowing Difficulties) – Promoting safe eating and drinking practices.
  • Stress and Distress – Understanding and responding to behaviour with empathy and skill.
  • Dignity & Respect – Embedding person-centred values into everyday practice.
  • Trauma-Informed Practice – Recognising the impact of trauma and responding sensitively.
  • Adult Support and Protection – Safeguarding individuals and promoting wellbeing.
  • Leadership Passports & Coaching – Supporting professional growth, confidence and leadership development.
  • Additional Clinical Competencies – Tailored to service needs and individual roles.
  • SVQ Level 2 & 3 Health & Social Care – Supported in line with SSSC requirements.
